Born in 2001, Gabriel Meloni has been performing on stage with a wide variety of ensembles since childhood; he made his orchestral debut at the age of ten. He has since performed multiple times at the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Vienna Musikverein, as well as at the Bregenz Festival, for ORF, and for Allianz. He received particular attention following his appearance in the intermission film of this year’s Vienna Philharmonic New Year’s Concert.
Gabriel Meloni received his education from Oliver Schnyder, Konstantin Scherbakov, and Jan Jiracek von Arnim. He is currently studying with Benedetto Lupo at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and chamber music with Stefan Mendl at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He has attended masterclasses with Lang Lang, Eldar Nebolsin, Pavel Gililov, Michel Béroff, and Bernd Goetzke.
He is a prize winner in several competitions; among other achievements, he won second prize at the “Rotary Piano Prize” in Lindau in 2018. In 2012, he won third prize at the international “Jenö Takacs Competition” in Burgenland, and in 2019, he won third prize at the international “Nuova Coppa Pianisti” competition in Osimo (IT). In addition, he won the Tokyo Foundation’s Sylff Scholarship in 2025. Gabriel is also active as a chamber musician. A CD recording with bassoon and several first and special prizes at international and national competitions, including the “Luigi Nono” in Turin in 2017, underscore this.
Gabriel has also received invitations from orchestras such as the Innstrumenti Chamber Orchestra, the Vienna Youth Philharmonic, the Knittelfeld Chamber Orchestra, and the Collegium Innstumentale Dornbirn. He has also been invited to give recitals by EPTA, the “Due Mondi” Festival in Spoleto (organized by Beatrice Rana), the Swiss Chamber Music Festival, the “Cristofori Festival” in Padua, the Klevischer Musiksommer, and “Amici della Musica Piemonte.”

2001 geboren, präsentiert sich Gabriel Meloni bereits im Kindesalter in den verschiedensten Formationen am Podium, so debütierte er im Alter von zehn Jahren mit Orchester. Mittlerweile tritt er mehrmals im Wiener Konzerthaus sowie im Wiener Musikverein und im Rahmen der Bregenzer Festspiele, des ORFs und der Allianz auf.
